Imagine that God came in the form of a personalized package, wrapped in plain brown paper and shipped to you personally. You know the kind of parcel--not exactly the pattern of perfection, tied with twine, and postmarked with crooked labels. You might be tempted to turn up your nose and sneer: “It’s wrapped like a piece of raw meat!” Or, as you recognize the personal touch, your heart might skip a beat: “For me--personally?” You could be upset or uplifted by the same shipment. How is that possible? What makes the difference? It’s found in the relationship between you and the sender. It’s impossible to recognize the personal touch of a total stranger.

“He who accepts Christ as his personal Saviour, will love Jesus...” (Messages to Young People, pg. 29). It’s personal with God--He hand wrapped His heart--His only Son--and shipped Him to you personally. Jesus is “...this great gift of God to our world and to us personally” (Messages to Young People, pg. 159). You can’t get much more personal than that!
